The Lincoln Dioramas
A feature story on the Chicago Historical Society’s Lincoln dioramas captures their colorful charm. They were made by the Museum Extension Program of the Works Progress Administration (WPA), under the sponsorship of the Chicago Board of Education. Note the newspaper’s date — Pearl Harbor Day, when Japanese forces attacked a U.S. Navy base in Hawaii, triggering U.S. involvement in World War II.
